Treatment step by step

  1. 1

    Consultation and 3D scan

We assess your teeth and take a digital impression. We explain whether aligner treatment suits your case.

  2. 2

    Treatment plan and virtual result

A digital model shows how your teeth will move step by step and what the final result will look like before treatment even begins.

  3. 3

    Making the aligners

A series of aligners is made to fit your teeth in a German laboratory. The lab needs about four weeks. Each aligner moves your teeth a little further.

  4. 4

    Wearing

You wear each aligner about 22 hours a day and switch to a new one every two weeks. You take it out for eating.

  5. 5

    Check-up visits

You come in every two weeks so the treatment stays on track. Check-up visits are included in the price of the treatment.

  6. 6

    Keeping the result

At the end of the treatment you get a retainer that holds your teeth in their new position.

Frequently asked questions about aligners

Are aligners really invisible?
Almost. A clear aligner is hard to notice at conversation distance. That is why adults often choose aligner treatment.
Does wearing aligners hurt?
The first days with a new aligner can feel tight, because your teeth are starting to move. It is light pressure, not pain, and it passes quickly.
What happens if I forget to wear the aligner?
A single missed hour does no harm. If you wear the aligner much less than 22 hours a day, the treatment falls behind schedule and the result is delayed.
How do I care for the aligners?
Rinse the aligner every time you take it out and wash it with a soft brush. Never use hot water, as the aligner can deform.
Does aligner treatment suit every bite problem?
No. A complex bite problem may need braces or combined treatment. We will find this out at the consultation.
